Renovation and Demolition

For most renovation and demolition projects, a thorough inspection is required to identify asbestos-containing materials (ACM) present and determine the appropriate management of asbestos. Additionally, hazardous materials and universal wastes, such as PCB, mercury, and electronic waste, may also require assessment.

The following governing agencies regulate asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in Ohio:

  • National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) enforced by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Ohio Department of Health (ODH)
  • Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA)
